Healthy Jelly (No Added Sugars)

blog post(16).png

Hey everyone!

I don’t know about you but I love me a good PB & J sandwich… however, I hate that all store bought jelly is loaded with added sugars! It’s easy for me to find a clean peanut butter or almond butter… but when it comes to jelly or jam, it’s freakin’ impossible!!!

Here is my easy go-to hack to make jelly in a pinch. It’s so easy, you’re going to be amazed by how simple this is. Plus I added chia seeds for extra bonus health benefits like fiber, protein, omegas, antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties as well. :) Win-win, right?

The two ingredients are a bag of frozen berries and chia seeds. No added sugars, no added crap… just the way I like it. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1 bag of frozen berries (You can use strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, mixed berries… whatever you prefer)

2-4 tbsp of chia seeds

mason jar

Directions:

1.) Place bag of frozen berries in the fridge overnight to let it defrost/melt.

2.) When the berries are melted and mushy, transfer to a mason jar.

3.) Add the chia seeds and stir well so you don’t get any clumps. Keep stirring for a few minutes to make sure it is evenly mixed. Add more chia for a thicker jam (and for more added chia health benefits).

4.) Close jar and put in fridge for at least 2-3 hours to turn into jelly/jam consistency.

5.) Enjoy on some toast, in a PB& J sandwich, over some yogurt, by itself… the possibilities are endless. :)
